Udall to Support Kagan Nomination
WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall announced that he will vote to confirm current Solicitor General Elena Kagan as Supreme Court Justice:
"Throughout the confirmation process, Solicitor General Kagan has proven that she is well-prepared to serve on the United States Supreme Court. She has long been recognized as one of our nations leading legal minds and has demonstrated her expertise arguing cases before the court on which she has now been nominated to serve.
"In addition, I have had the opportunity to meet with Solicitor General Kagan and closely followed her committee hearings. As a result, I believe she is exceedingly qualified to be our next Supreme Court Justice and I look forward to supporting her nomination when the Senate votes to confirm her later this week."
