Udall Statement on Payroll Tax Compromise

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) today issued the following statement on the Senate's passage of the Payroll Tax cut extension through the end of the year:
"As our economy shows signs of improvement, we must sustain that momentum by supporting working families. That's exactly what the Senate did today by extending the payroll tax credit through the end of the year. While the deal also extended unemployment assistance, we must do even more to provide a safety net for New Mexico's workers who are out of work due to no fault of their own until the economy has recovered" Udall said.
